Creator storefront or link in bio: which is better for influencers?

It depends on who gets the affiliate links. A link-in-bio page like Linktree collects your links and, according to Linktree’s help centre, can also show products with images and prices in its Shop tab. You get the affiliate links there yourself from each programme; commission through Linktree Shops is US-only, says Linktree. A creator storefront usually creates the links for you. You can combine both: add the storefront as one link on your Linktree.

What Linktree offers in Germany

This is how Linktree’s help centre describes its features, read on 22 October 2026. The last point covers what is only available in the US.

  • A Shop tab for all accounts: you paste the address of a product or an affiliate link, then check the photo, title, price and currency. Anyone who taps a product buys it on the shop’s website, not from Linktree.
  • Affiliate links from any programme, as long as they follow Linktree’s Community Standards. That means you join the programmes yourself, and each programme pays its own commission.
  • Collections of up to 30 products. If you add /shop to your Linktree address, it opens straight on the Shop tab. In your settings, you can also make the Shop the first thing people see.
  • Selling digital products, courses and bookings if you are based in Germany or another supported country. Digital products need a Pro or Premium plan.
  • US-based accounts only: Linktree Shops, where you earn commission through Linktree on products from partner brands, sponsored links, Linktree’s own affiliate opportunities and Linktree Rewards.

Ten products from one reel in the Shop tab: the steps

Say you show ten products from four shops in a reel and want to feature them in the Shop tab from Germany. The example is made up. The steps in Linktree follow Linktree’s help centre. How many programmes you need depends on the shops.

  1. Find the affiliate programme for each of the four shops and sign up wherever you haven’t already. Some programmes accept you straight away, others review you first; Amazon, for example, reviews your Associates application once you have made at least three sales within the first 180 days, according to its help pages.
  2. Create an affiliate link for each of the ten products in the relevant programme.
  3. Open the Shop tab in Linktree, paste each link and check the photo, title, price and currency. You do this ten times.
  4. Create a collection, for example named the way you refer to it in the video, and add the ten products. A collection holds up to 30.
  5. Share the link: your Linktree address with /shop at the end. Because it leads to affiliate links, put a note right next to the link; there is an example in the questions below.
  6. Keep it up to date: if a product sells out or a programme ends, you swap the link yourself. Commission comes from up to four programmes, and each pays out under its own rules.

How it works on wyrld

You can keep your Linktree: your wyrld storefront has its own address as soon as you sign up, and you add it there as one link or put it straight in your bio. For the ten products in the example, you just paste the product links or pick them from the catalogue and create a collection. wyrld recognises brand, name and variant, looks for the same item in more than 90,000 partner shops and creates an affiliate link for every offer it finds, without you signing up with any network. Your community sees the offers side by side with prices and buys wherever it likes, directly from the shop at no extra cost. According to Bitkom Research (2022), the lowest price is a decisive factor for 65% of online shoppers in Germany when they choose a shop.

Depending on the shop, you earn per click, per sale or both, including in Germany. At the start of the following month you receive a Gutschrift (self-billing credit note), so you don’t write invoices yourself; sale commissions are paid out once the shop or affiliate programme has paid wyrld. wyrld is free for creators, and its creator terms don’t require exclusivity, so you can use your storefront alongside programmes you already belong to. Under those terms, wyrld only works with businesses within the meaning of § 14 BGB (German Civil Code), such as a Gewerbe (registered trade), freelance work or a company; creators using the Kleinunternehmer rule (small business scheme) can join too.

If you work with an agency, it gets its own dashboard on wyrld, looks after your storefront with you and sees your numbers. Brands can pay for campaigns through wyrld Boost that run across many creators and pay out according to KPIs agreed in advance. You decide if you take part. You add the note next to your storefront link and label your posts yourself.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Is Linktree Shops available in Germany?

No. According to Linktree’s help centre, Linktree Shops, where you earn commission through Linktree on products from partner brands, is only available to US-based accounts, and other eligibility criteria may apply. The Shop tab is open to every account: you can show products there with affiliate links from programmes you have joined yourself, and each programme pays its own commission.

Can I make money with Linktree in Germany?

Yes, Linktree’s help centre describes two ways. You can sell digital products, courses or bookings directly through Linktree; digital products need a Pro or Premium plan. Or you can add affiliate links from programmes you have joined to your Shop tab. Linktree Shops, sponsored links and Linktree’s own affiliate opportunities are US-only.

Do I need a paid Linktree plan for the Shop tab?

According to Linktree’s help centre, the Shop tab is available to all accounts, and it doesn’t name a plan for it. The pricing page lists a Free plan with unlimited basic links. Linktree does require a specific plan for selling digital products: Pro or Premium. What the plans cost is on Linktree’s pricing page.

Can I add my wyrld storefront to Linktree?

Yes. Your storefront has its own address from sign-up; add it to your Linktree as a link. German media authorities’ guidelines call for an asterisk and explanation right next to affiliate links, and “Werbung” or “Anzeige” (advertisement) for commercial links to shops. They don’t name collection pages. An example with both: “Anzeige: My shop*”, then “*Affiliate links: I earn from clicks or purchases depending on the shop, at no extra cost to you.”

Can my agency help run my Linktree or my wyrld storefront?

On Linktree, according to its help centre, you can invite an admin with full access on the Premium plan; for agencies, the pricing page also names Agency + Enterprise. On wyrld, your agency gets its own dashboard, opens your storefront from there, works on products and profile with you and sees your numbers. Any commission share you agree on is deducted from your earnings at the monthly settlement, and your agency receives its own credit note.
